The premier gathering for The New Masculine community -- where masculine-identifying people come together to disrupt outdated models of masculinity; and together, construct new models for our way forward as men.



What we'll explore:

  • Who you are - free from the external narratives of what it means to be a man.
  • How you’re living life - the successes and challenges.
  • The strength and quality of your relationships.
  • Who you aspire to be.



We'll do this in community with other men AND with the support of another community: a herd of horses. Why horses? They offer experiential, embodied, and relational learning that will help you explore the gap between where you are and where you'd like to be in your life.

  • Full day retreat with Horses where you'll receive both individual and group coaching session from Master Life and Equus Coach, Travis Stock, MSW. (Lunch Included)

What type of men's work is this? 
Truth is, not all men's work is created equally. The sad reality is that there are well-known voices and men’s communities taking stances that are steeped in misogyny and seek to reinforce outdated ideas of men’s rights and power over others. That's not what this is.

This men’s work will help you strip away the narratives around manhood, giving you freedom to create our own definition.  
This men’s work will encourage shared power rather than dominance.
This men’s work will help you help you understand and respond to our emotions.
This men’s work will help you explore the quality of our relationships and your role in improving them.
This men’s work will offer both the challenge and support you need to grow.
This men’s work will teach you to stay connected to another's humanity, even when we disagree or conflict arises. 
In this men’s work we listen to, learn from, and encourage voices often left out of these conversations (queer men, men of color, etc.).

All men are welcome. Hate, misogyny, homophobia, racism, and/or criticism are not. 

Why are there horses at this retreat?
Short Answer: They offer experiential, embodied, and relational learning that helps you explore the gap between where you are and where you’d like to be in your life. 

How will it work?
You will enter into a relationship with a being that doesn’t speak the same language as you do. While humans often rely on verbal language and relating through concepts, horses rely on physical language and feel. Without the typical control mechanisms used with horses (halters, bridles, saddles, etc.), I’ll ask you to get present to the relationship itself.
As you begin to relate to the horse— whether that’s standing close together, needing more space, or moving together — the horse offers feedback. And because the horse is simply responding to what it feels, rather than telling itself a story about what it feels, the feedback will be honest, direct, and non-judgmental. And in this feedback, you will get a window into your impact on the relationship. If something isn’t working, we'll explore what that means to you and what else you might try. And when you make a shift, so will the horse. This right here is a doorway into the deeper exploration of how you shows up for yourself and in the world.
